Tight Rope (video
help)
The tight rope or “trampoline” is normally done above
the head. You start with the sticks pointing up and a tight string,
like you are going to catch the diabolo but the string
is level and you don’t cushion the diabolo.
You keep the string tight and bounce the diabolo on the tight string
(see video). You can
bounce it down a line, back and forth like tennis, straight up in
down to set up a high throw, or however you like.
To start the tight rope you can simply raise the diabolo above
your head and begin, or throw a low throw (5 feet over your head
or so) and then make it bounce. The only thing to pay attention
to is to make sure your string crosses
the middle of the diabolo. If you stand so that
the diabolo is not perpendicular to the plane of the string, it
will quickly tilt and fall.
